Noxious Weed Species designated “Undesirable Plants”
within Town of Lake City
In response to the Colorado Weed Management Act, the Board of Trustees of the Town of Lake City passed Ordinance No. 1 (Series 1998) and Ordinance No. 3 (Series 2007) that specified a list of undesirable plants (noxious weed species) subject to control. The plants on the following list have been declared a public nuisance. To combat the spread of these weeds and inhibit their supplanting vulnerable native species, it is considered the general duty of property owners to eliminate these undesirable plants from their property in a manner that is “safe and practical under the circumstances, giving proper regard to other laws, ordinances, rules and regulations enacted for preservation of public and environmental health, safety and welfare.”
