The Board is adopting new water and sewer rates. The following rate structure will be considered in ordinance form at their February 4th BOT meeting. The goal is to cover actual operating expenses with base rates and use excess use fees to set aside funds for capital improvements. Here is a synopsis of how the new rates will work:

We will go to bi-monthly (every two month) billing. (Jan/Feb, March/April, May/June, July/August, September/October, November/December)

The water rate every two months will be $80. This is an increase if $60 per year (current quarterly rate:105x4=420, new rate $80 x 6 =$480, $480-$420=$60).

The sewer rate remains the same but will be billed bi-monthly at $80 for a total of $480 per year.

Non-Single Family Residential customers using over 13,999 gallons every two months will pay an additional $4.25 per 1000 gallons if water used for excess sewer usage.

Non-Single Family Residential customers using over 13,999 gallons every two months will pay an additional $3.00 per 1000 gallons for excess water used up to 17,999.

Non-Single Family Residential customers using over 18,000 gallons every two months will pay an additional $4.25 per 1000 gallons for excess water used between 18,000 and 23,999.

Non-Single Family Residential customers using over 23,999 gallons every two months will pay an additional $5.50 per 1000 gallons for excess water over 23,999.

Single Family Residential customers pay no fee for excess sewer usage (no change).

Single Family Residential customers using over 13,999 gallons every two months will pay an additional $3.00 per 1000 gallons for excess water used up to 17,999.

Single Family Residential customers using over 18,000 gallons every two months will pay an additional $4.25 per 1000 gallons for excess water used between 18,000 and 23,999.

Single Family Residential customers using over 23,999 gallons every two months will pay an additional $5.50 per 1000 gallons for excess water over 23,999.

We want to change the language distinguishing single family rates and non-single family rates away from using the word commercial because the current language is confusing people about who has to pay sewer excess charges.

Questions or concerns? Call Town Hall or your BOT representative or send an email to the Town. Any written correspondence will be sent directly to the board.
